My bachelorette weekend was completely awesome. Nine of my best friends and I stayed in a friend’s family cottage in Rehoboth Beach, DE. My sister Anna came all the way from Boston, and Margaret all the way from NYC. My friends are the greatest. They provided the house for the weekend, delicious meals, and very very pretty presents! We spent the day on Saturday lying on the beach, swimming, catching up and reading. On Saturday night we ate a yummy dinner at the house and went out to the boardwalk at night. We even did the bumper cars…
My friends and I have many inside jokes. I think we created one that is here to stay this weekend. On our walk to the beach as a group on Saturday morning Margaret and Katie recounted to us how much they had laughed driving on the way down after spotting a sign at a mom and pop vegetable stand that read “LOPES” (short for Cantaloupes). They both burst out laughing. Margaret saying “OMG Katie! That sign said LOPES“. They drove further and then caught sight of another sign at a roadside stand. This one said “Logna Biscuit”. Katie says to Margaret, “That sign says log in a Biscuit!”. To which Margaret replied, “no, it’s Logna Bisquit! Loney as in, short for baloney!” The whole thing digressed until Margaret was saying something like “We take the Bo out of your Loney” and Katie, “I’ll have a Loney Biscuit. I’m loney, too” Etc, etc.
So silly. We had a great time being goofy and lots of great time talking and catching up with each other. It was refreshing to be around all of my friends at once. Where else in the world are there signs that say things like Lopes and Loney?
