I’m doing some research for our wedding music (stay tuned for the request page!) and I came across a link for “Nadia and Phil’s 80’s Dance Party Wedding.” “Uh-oh”, thought the Nuptial Curmudgeon, “this is either going to like frat rock 80’s style with all the wrong one-hit wonders played, or it is going to be a psuedo-trendy hispter thing that ends up being 5 time more contrived that a ‘traditional’ wedding.”
Then, I SAW THE BIKES. (I like bikes, BTW, but bike hipsters are the worst kind.)

walk, don't run.
But then, I saw this:

Bizarre Love Triangle
And also these:

And so, despite the HIGH level of precociousness and coolness involved, and against my better judgment, I think this is all pretty sweet. I mean, just look at their smiles! And they look good in the clothes. I can’t tell why, but I think the artifice level actually seems pretty low. So kudos Nadia and Phil, you guys have the hipster wedding to beat for ‘09.
Just never, never tell me how you made the ceremony “yours.”
