James and I have been at wedding planning for about four months now and we are really starting to get the hang of it. At first it was a daunting challenge, but we’ve knocked out a lot of the “big stuff”. It’s getting closer to what I think will be the most enjoyable part: the look and feel along with the invitations and other printed materials. So here’s a recap of all the things we’ve touched on or squared away completely.
1. Ceremony location
2. Officiant (the wonderful Rev. Paul Walker)
3. Reception venue
4. All event rentals
5. Most of the food
6. Staffing for reception
7. Pre-marital counseling
8. Engagement photo book
9. [Awesome] website
10. My dress, shoes and jewelry and James’ Tux
11. Bridesmaid dresses
12. Bridesmaid gifts [DIY gifts made with the help of Emily and Mandy]
13. Tux’s for Groomsmen
14. Photographer
15. Save The Date cards
16. House to live (!!!)
17. The registry
18. Wedding play list has been started
19. Hotels reserved
20. Invitation design started
Baaaah there is still so much to get done!!!
In the meantime I distract myself with wedding blogs. Today I saw this video invitation. I don’t normally go for overly-precious indie video invites…but stop animation??? Argyle socks? I LUVS it.

Woah, you’ve taken care of a ton! that is awesome. Is everything within walking distance of the church? What about transportation for you guys.
love the video – very clever!
good points marge.
yes, everything is very very walking distance.
I have rented a stretch Hummer to get us to the church on time.
And I have arranged a certain someone to whisk us away to our honeymoon.
ciao.
